CORINTH TRANSITIONS TO .GOV DOMAIN

domain change

CORINTH, TX, January 6, 2026 – The City of Corinth has officially transitioned its website and staff email addresses to a .gov domain, a move that strengthens the security, reliability and trustworthiness of City communications for residents.

What This Means for Residents
The .gov domain is reserved exclusively for verified U.S. government entities, making it easy for residents to recognize official City information and communications. This change brings several key benefits:

  • Greater Trust & Credibility: Residents can be confident that information coming from a .gov address is official and accurate.
  • Improved Security: .gov domains require advance protections, including encryption and multi-factor authentication, and are closely monitored for cybersecurity threats.
  • Easier to Find Information: Government websites are prioritized in search results, helping residents more quickly locate City services, news, and resources.
  • Reduced Risk of Fraud: Using a .gov domain helps prevent phishing and impersonation attempts that can target residents and local governments.

No Disruption of Services
Residents will not experience any interruption in accessing the City’s website.  Visitors to the previous web address will be automatically redirected to corinthtx.gov, and the former address will continue to work for the foreseeable future.

Updated Email Addresses
City staff are also transitioning to .gov email addresses. Emails sent to former .com email addresses will be automatically forwarded, ensuring uninterrupted communication with residents and businesses.

By moving to a .gov domain, the City of Corinth is taking an important step to enhance online security and ensure residents can easily identify and trust official City communications.
