MAY 2026 ELECTION GUIDE
CORINTH, TX, April 9, 2026 – Election season is here! Corinth City Hall will serve as a polling location for both early voting and Election Day voting in the 2026 City of Corinth General Election. This guide provides everything you need to know—from voter registration to understanding your ballot.
What is on the ballot?
General & Special Election
The General Election will be held on May 2, 2026, for voters to elect representatives for Corinth City Council Mayor and Place 5, each serving a three-year term.
Council Member for Place 2 has resigned to run for Mayor, creating a vacancy for the remainder of the Place 2 term, which expires in May 2028. A Special Election to fill the unexpired term will be held in conjunction with the upcoming General Election. The current Place 2 officeholder will continue to serve until the election results for both races are finalized and certified.

Place 5: Kelly Pickens (Incumbent) | Matt Benefield | Ashlee Worden
Early Voting Information
Early voting will take place from April 21 to April 28, 2026, at Corinth City Hall, 3300 Corinth Parkway. Denton County residents can vote at any Denton County early voting location. Visit VoteDenton.gov for a full list of locations, dates, and times.
Corinth City Hall Early Voting Hours:
- Monday, April 20 – Saturday, April 28 | 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 21: No voting - San Jacinto Day (State Holiday)
- Sunday, April 26 | 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Monday, April 27 & Tuesday, April 28 | 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Election Day Information
On Saturday, May 2, 2026, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Residents must vote at their assigned precinct. Corinth precincts are 2071, 2072, 2073, 2074, and 3160.

Voter Registration
Texas does not allow same-day voter registration. To check your registration status, visit the Texas Secretary of State website and enter your full name, birthdate, and zip code.
Acceptable Forms of ID
Voters must present one of the acceptable forms of photo ID as required by State law. These include the following:
- Texas Driver’s License (issued by DPS)
- Texas Personal Identification Card (issued by DPS)
- Texas Election Identification Certificate (issued by DPS)
- Texas Handgun License (issued by DPS)
- U.S. Military ID Card (with photo)
- U.S. Citizenship Certificate (with photo)
- U.S. Passport
If you cannot present one of these IDs, you may provide a supporting form of ID and complete a "Reasonable Impediment Declaration." For more details, visit the Texas Secretary of State.
